A private tour with an expert wine guide to Australia’s best-known wine appellation, including visits to both main parts of the region; the Barossa Valley and Eden Valley. The Barossa has the World’s oldest Shiraz vineyards, some dating back to the 1840’s. Perfectly suited to the region’s climate and soil, they produce incredibly complex wines, rich and full-bodied but with soft tannins. Barossa Shiraz has made an undeniable mark on the international wine scene. In contrast, Eden Valley Riesling is elegant and crisp, reflecting the cool climate and stony soil of the high vineyards. Its hallmark soft citrus bouquet and rich lime fruit palate combine with great acid structure and make Eden Valley Riesling a stand-alone regional varietal, one of Australia’s classic wine styles.

Your private wine guide will meet you at your accommodation and accompany you on a delightful short drive through the Adelaide hills. This experience includes a private tutored premium wine tasting, as well as your expert guided tastings at various wineries to suit your personal interests. You will have the opportunity to embrace the significant wine styles of this historic region. Also included is morning tea, a delicious lunch served at a local restaurant, afternoon tea and, at your choice, may include visits to local producers of cheese, dried fruits, smoked meats and other regional produce. By day’s end, you will have acquired a real insight into the region.
