Day 1 of your adventure takes you north into the wine regions of the Clare Valley. On your way, you will travel through historic towns with quaint cottages and historic buildings. At Clare, you have an opportunity to visit one of the unique wineries in this region, before continuing your journey. The legendary lilac haze of the Flinders Ranges, loom ever closer in the distance. You are now in the habitat of Australia's famous wildlife - not only kangaroos and emus live here in abundance, but also many species of unique birds and reptiles. Lunch today is at the oldest pub in the Flinders Ranges, 'The North Star Hotel'. From here, your driver/guide will continue the tour in to the heart of the Flinders Ranges through vast sheep station country. There will an opportunity to stop at one of the Ghost Towns for some stories and photos. Wilpena Pound Resort is your destination tonight, providing access to glorious walking trails and excellent accommodation.

During the interpretive Opal Tour you will be dazzled with colour and gain a better understanding the life of an Opal miner and how they get 'hooked'. 'Warning!'... Banksia Adventures take no responsibility if "Opal Fever" has been contracted. Your plane then leaves (with you onboard) for the quirky township of William Creek for lunch and a cold Aussie beer. Don't get to comfortable because it's time again to board your aircraft for the next adventure. Fly over Australia's largest salt lake, Lake Eyre and the Channel Country. Your accommodation tonight is at one of the oldest and most famous outback hotels "The Birdsville Hotel", in western Queensland.
